Hi folks,
there's an art place in New Zealand that is really worth visting.
I attached the link here:http://www.aucklandartgallery.com/
Hello!
I have just joined Go Figurative.
I have been updating my website which can be seen at www.robertcordingley.co.uk
In early summer 2010, I was asked by Dr Frank Rushbrook if I would - or could- produce a posthumous portrait of his son Ian. Ian was a much loved figure in Edinburgh, a great family man with a brilliant mind. Ian was a fund manager, and ran Personal Assets Trust, (PAT). What he is best known for was his early prediction of the global financial crash. Seeing what was coming, over several years, he gradually took PAT's assets out of equity markets and kept the money in cash and bonds.
We are now taking submissions for our next show, Real Broadgate 27-29 September 2010 in the heart of London's financial district. Closing date is 27th August. Look forward to seeing you there.
Thanks to Nicky Colton Milne for taking some fantastic photographs of the Real Hampstead art show at St Stephen's in London NW3.This one in particularly captures the magnificence of the venue.
The drawing masterclasses started at Real Hampstead this morning without a spare easel in sight. A well lit corner of St Stephens' provided a perfect studio space.
Whilst loving the opportunity to get back to drawing, it occurred to me how a drawing class can bring a disparate group of people together in harmony for a short and still period of time. We were all immersed in our work, as London life continued on outside and visitors to the show milled around behind us. Nothing could break the focus of our concentration. Such is the power of the creative process.
Wow! what a week. We have converted St Stephens in Hampstead into a gallery exhibiting over 100 artworks from artists in the Go Figurative community from all around the world.
There were over 200 people at the private view. We had such positive feedback from people amazed by the quality of the art on display.
Thanks to our sponsors, Farrow and Ball, Cass Art and Thornton's Budgens who have helped us promote the show. Please come and have a look if you are in London, and tell you friends.
