collect figurative art. Red Dress, Blue Dress…
Decisions, decisions . . . Both of these dresses were borrowed from an Oxford clothes shop which is an Aladdin’s cave of where-did-you-get-that treasures. Dresses and exotica for special occasions; I loved the shiny, slippery silk of these two – the bold, cerise ball dress and the sinuous cheongsam. Hanging like this, I wondered if it was one person undecided, or two people getting ready, together.

Guest Article: How do you like your art?
I have worked in the art world for almost ten years and every now and then I am still surprised by the different viewpoints that exist on the topic. For example, when I work I have a very functional view - I tend to think of an artwork as a thing made out of canvas, paint, steel, bronze, plastic or a combination of materials. This thing (or pair of things) needs to be framed, installed, condition checked, repaired, crated, flown, customs cleared, preferably not damaged and especially not lost.
