How are you involved in making Go Figurative work?:
Artist Liaison in the US - the eyes, ears and mouth of Go Figurative in the US.
Extent of art knowledge :
After completing my undergraduate degree in Michigan I ventured across the pond where I first studied Conservation of Ethnographic Materials at the University of Wales and then later completed an MPhil in Early European Art from the University of Glasgow.
When I eventually pulled myself into the big wide world I was lucky enough to land a job working with the leading global Rodin dealer - Robert Bowman at his London gallery.
Describe the extent of your talent as an artist:
I don't profess to be a talented artist but I love art. But I do believe that archaeological excavation and conservation of its materials is an art form. From the mapping and graphing to the shoveling, and brushing, to working with dental instruments on the smallest of finds, the work of an archaeologist is painstaking, intricate and filled with respect for the space we are in.
Describe your early memories of your emerging talent as an artist?:
I remember discovering a Roman mosaic on my first archaeological excavation. I remember thinking there is no greater joy than the discovery of something beautiful, it was then that I fell in love with art.
Role of figurative art:
Figurative art is like any other art, a way for us to understand, conceptualize and interpret the world we live in. The beauty of figurative art is that it is as old as the beginnings of man and yet as current as any abstract art, but attempts to include, not confound the viewer
